On the way to Fes, we explore the Roman ruins in Volubilis. Then it’s on to Fes, where we’ll arrive in the evening, and here you’ll overnight in a traditional Moroccan riad.

     

    Day 3 : Fes Guided Tour

    Today we will explore Fes in a guided tour. The tour includes visiting the medina (the old city) and its alleys. Your visit starts by visiting the Jewish Quarter (the Mellah) and the Royal Palace (yard), which is the biggest one in the country. You will be visiting the famous tanneries and the Quaraouine mosque considered the first university in the world. After lunch, in a typical Moroccan restaurant in Medina, you’ll experience a wonderful panoramic view of the city. Overnight accommodation will be at the local riad with dinner and breakfast.

     

    Day 4 : Fes – Merzouga Sahara Desert

Here you will have the option to hike for an hour within the valley, where you will meet locals and learn about the culture and geography. After lunch in the heart of the gorge, you will continue to the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. Our accommodation will be a fancy guest house with dinner and breakfast.

     

    Day 7 : Dades Gorges – Ait Ben Haddou

    Today we continue our tour from Casablanca and we drive through the Dades Valley towards Ouarzazate and we will stop at Kalaat Mgouna, which is the centre of Roses valley.     After breakfast, we drive to Fes. On the way, stop in Rabat, the capital and residence of the king. Lunch there and time to enjoy the beautiful coastal town. After lunch, we continue to Fes, the spiritual capital of Morocco.

     

    Day 2 : Exploring Fes

    After breakfast, you will start your tour to the medina of Fes, which has one of the largest walls in the world in cities. You can explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices, woven Berber carpets, and many art objects of Morocco. A visit to the Palazzo Re, tanneries, and potters are just a few places you will explore. For lunch, you can eat in a traditional restaurant in the heart of the medina. After lunch, we will complete the tour and return to your hotel for the evening.

     

    Day 3 : Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

    After an early breakfast, which is in the morning to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. You will spend the morning exploring the 2000-year-old ruins and get a picture of life during the Roman Empire. Lunch can be taken in Moulay Idris, one of the holiest cities in Morocco. After lunch, your driver will take you on a drive-through tour of the imperial city of Meknes. You can choose to hire a guide to explore the city. You will return to Fes in the evening.

     

    Day 4 : Fes – Erfoud – Merzouga

    After an early breakfast, you will begin your ascent through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Most of the day will be spent winding your way through the beautiful forests, cliffs, jagged and Berber villages as you cross the Atlas Mountains and begin to descend towards the Sahara Desert. In the middle of the road, stop for lunch in the town of Midelt, famous for its fossils and rocks. Then we continue to Erfoud and Rissani. In the evening, we reach Merzouga, where we stay overnight in a desert hotel.

     

    Day 5 : Merzouga – Sahara Desert

    Most of the day is spent relaxing at the hotel or exploring the desert city, which is small but interesting. In the afternoon, we head off in about 4-wheel drive vehicle through the barren land to the majestic dunes Sahara. Around the time of sunset is the time for a camel ride for 2 hours to the oasis, where you will spend the night in Berber tents (Dinner is included). This might be optional if you prefer to return to the hotel to sleep.

     

    Day 6 : Sahara Desert – Todra Gorges

    After breakfast, you will return by camel to 4×4 and back to Erfoud. From Erfoud, we start behind the Atlas Mountains in the path of the Todra Gorges. In the afternoon, there will be a walk in the towering Todra Gorges (300 m high). The valleys of the picturesque river make a nice trip to the south-east of Morocco.

     

    Day 7 : Todra Gorges – Marrakech

    After breakfast, departure to Marrakech via Ouarzazate. You will visit one of the jewels of Morocco, Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou‘. After lunch, we head over the mountains to Marrakech. Once in Marrakech, you will check in at your hotel, then turn to Djemaa el-Fna, the central square of the medina. The famous Djemaa el-Fna is one of the attractions of the center of Marrakech. Coming alive at night with the local storytellers, entertainers, and succulent barbecue pits, the square is well worth a visit. A quiet cup of tea on the terrace of a nearby bar offers a spectacular aerial view of the bustling square. Dinner and overnight in Marrakech.

    Day 1 : Casablanca – Fes

    On the first day of our 8 Days Desert Trip from Casablanca to Marrakech via Imperial Cities, we will pick you up at the airport and drive towards Fes. We will visit Rabat, the capital and also Meknes, a very important city in Morocco’s history and culture. We may also visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, and then we drive to Fes, where we stay overnight in a local traditional riad/hotel.

    Day 2: Fes Sightseeing

    Today, our private Casablanca tour continues with a visit to the Medina (the old city). We walk inside its alleys, and we visit the Jewish Quarter and the Royal Palace. We will visit the famous tanneries in Fez, worth experiencing. Then we see the Quaraouine mosque, which is considered the 1st university in the world. We stay overnight in a local riad/hotel.

    Day 3: Fes – Midelt – Rissani – Merzouga

    Today, we travel towards Ifrane, referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco”. We may stop at Azrou, a Berber village in the cedar forest. We will have lunch in Midelt, and afterwards, we’ll drive along the Ziz Valley. We’ll pass through a few Berber villages to reach Erfoud and then Rissani. Then we arrive at Merzouga desert, where we stay in the local riad/hotel.

    Day 5 : Merzouga Desert – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges

    Early in the morning, we will watch the sunrise in the desert of Merzouga, and then we will ride camels back to the village of Merzouga. After breakfast, we leave for Rissani. We drive towards Tinghir, and then we explore Todra Gorges, which is the highest and narrowest Gorge in Morocco. Here we may hike within the amazing valley, and after lunch, we will continue our private Morocco tour passing the Dades Valley. Here we stay in Dades Gorges in a traditional local riad/hotel with dinner and breakfast.

    Day 6 : Dades gorges – Ait ben Haddou – Tizi N’tichka – Marrakech

    Continuing our 8 Days Desert Trip from Casablanca to Marrakech via Imperial Cities through the Dades valley towards Ouarzazate, passing the route of the 1000’s Kasbahs. We will stop at Kalaat Mgouna, which is the centre of Rose Valley. Here we may purchase rosewater, which is a local product made from roses. We will visit the Ouarzazatte movie studio, and also the local Kasbah in the city. We continue to the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, built by one of the last Berber chieftains. Our trip continues passing the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass at 2260 m. Then we arrive in Marrakech, where our private Morocco tour ends.

    Day 7: Marrakech Sightseeing

    Day 8: Marrakech – transfer to the airport
