Day 1: Agadir – Tata

Your journey begins with a private pick-up from your accommodation in Agadir. Departing the Atlantic coast, you head southeast toward the Anti-Atlas region, a landscape of dramatic rock formations and sparse desert vegetation.

Along the way, you venture off the main road to explore Oum el-Alek, home to remarkable prehistoric rock carvings that bear witness to early human presence in the region. Continue toward the oasis settlements of Akka, Herbal, and Tircht—among the most picturesque in southern Morocco—where traditional irrigation systems sustain lush palm groves amidst arid surroundings.

The drive through the Anti-Atlas Mountains offers panoramic viewpoints and opportunities for photography. Upon arrival in Tata, a peaceful oasis town rich in Berber heritage, you settle into your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Tata – Foum Zguid – Erg Chegaga

After breakfast, continue your journey toward the desert frontier. The route gradually transitions into increasingly arid terrain as you approach Foum Zguid, a small town marking the gateway to the Sahara. Lunch may be enjoyed here before embarking on an off-road adventure.

Leaving the paved road behind, you cross the vast dry basin of Lake Iriki—a surreal expanse of cracked earth and open horizon—before reaching the magnificent dunes of Erg Chegaga.

Upon arrival, camels await to guide you across the dunes at sunset. The ascent to the dune crest offers sweeping views of golden sands illuminated by fading light.

Dinner is served at the desert camp, followed by music around the campfire. Overnight in traditional nomadic-style tents beneath a brilliant Saharan sky.

Day 3: Erg Chegaga – M’Hamid – Tamegroute – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate

Rise early to witness sunrise over the dunes—a serene and luminous spectacle. After breakfast at the camp, depart by 4×4 toward M’Hamid El Ghizlane, the last village before the vast desert expanse.

Continue to Tamegroute, where you visit the historic Quranic library, housing centuries-old manuscripts, and explore its traditional green-glazed pottery workshops.

Proceed northward toward Zagora before entering the magnificent Draa Valley. This extensive palm-lined corridor stretches across the desert landscape, dotted with fortified ksour and villages sustained by agriculture and date cultivation.

Day 4: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

Day 5: Marrakech – Guided City Tour

Today is dedicated to discovering Marrakech with a certified local guide. Begin your exploration within the old medina, walking through narrow alleys filled with artisan workshops and vibrant souks.

Visit the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and admire the Koutoubia Mosque from the exterior. Explore the Menara Gardens and the famous Majorelle Garden, known for its striking cobalt architecture and exotic flora.

Conclude at Jemaa el-Fna Square, where musicians, storytellers, and food vendors animate the city’s cultural heartbeat.

Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 6: Marrakech – Agadir

Enjoy a leisurely morning in Marrakech, allowing time for reflection, final shopping, or quiet relaxation.

Later, travel by highway back to Agadir, crossing varied Moroccan landscapes one final time.
